Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are highly recommended, especially for dinner service, High Tea and weekends. Walk-ins are always welcome when space allows, but we’d hate for you to miss out on the good stuff.

Where is Hippo located?

You’ll find us on Level 3 of QT Wellington, overlooking the waterfront. Press three and follow the sound of cocktail shakers and good decisions.

Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?

Absolutely. Our menus shift with the seasons and includes a selection of vegetarian and vegan options.

Do you cater to dietary requirements?

We do our best to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies where possible. Please let our team know when booking so the kitchen can prepare accordingly.

Is Hippo suitable for groups and private events?

From intimate dinners to full restaurant takeovers, Hippo is made for celebrations. We offer group dining, private events and exclusive use options tailored to your occasion.

What is Le Salon?

Le Salon is Hippo’s private dining room. An intimate, velvet-lined space seating up to 10 guests for long lunches, celebrations and private soirées.

Do you serve High Tea every day?

Hippo High Tea is available on weekends and bookings are essential. Expect tiers of sweet and savoury indulgence, plus a glass of bubbles on arrival.

Can I bring children?

Of course. Hippo welcomes guests of all ages, however there is no formal children’s menu available.

Do you have gift vouchers?

Yes. Gift vouchers are available and make excellent excuses for champagne and dessert.

Is there parking available?

Valet and nearby parking options are available through QT Wellington. Contact the hotel team for the latest parking information.
